About book: When I first started reading this story it seemed so familiar then I realised I have already read this story on wattpad! I didn't ever finish reading the story and was so happy when I found out that it had been made into a book and I could finally finish it!This is an amazingly written YA romance story that I recommend to everyone. The writing and the storyline is a breathe of fresh air and it's fantastic. If you're looking for a romance summer read then this is the story for you.One of my favourite things about this story is the characters. The way Beth describes them and how different each character is to the next is wonderful. I love how Rochelle is such a strong character even after getting teased and that she still holds her head up strong and can stick up for herself and also her friends. Another thing I love about this story is the friendship between her and her best friend Lee. I know in most stories or even in real life a friendship between a boy and girl usually turns into something more or the either one of them starts to have feelings for the other one, in this story this isn't the case. I love that it shows that a boy and a girl can be best friends and still be best friends after either one of them get's a boyfriend/girlfriend and they will always be by their side. To be honest at first I would have loved if they got together but I love them having their friendship even more. This story is a fast paced romance story that I think every YA fans would love. Beth has two other stories out which you can find out about on my interview with her on my author's page. I definitely need to get myself them! Especially if they're as lovely and adorable as this! 3.5...No lo se. Me gusto.

iBooks was promoting this one as a fun new YA book so I picked it up. Couldn't even finish it, it was that bad. The girls 'chirped' all the time, the guys smirked and threw punches, and there were typos all over the place. Not to mention, the author set the book in California but is clearly British herself, and didn't bother to change any of the lingo or spelling (Tell me, what California 17-year-old wears jumpers and trousers?). There was no character development and the whole thing just...suck...more
First of all, let me say this: I get it. I understand why Elle fell for Noah. The hot bad boy who turned into a romantic guy. Who wouldn’t want that?!
I’m so happy I read this book. Even though, from my point of view, the movie was better this time, let’s not forget that the idea came from the book. And yes, the movie was 80% different. A lot of aspects were changed. But still, the most important things were kept. And that’s why I cried like a baby when I saw the movie. And yeah, maybe I shed a

I haven't actually finished this book, but right now, I'm about to give up on it. Considering it's a Wattpad story, I'm not really surprised. Don't get me wrong,; for a story originally posted on a site like WattPad, this is good, and I'm not surprised at the number of readers that it has on that site. HOWEVER, I was hoping for something a little bit better than what I got.
Allow me to explain. I didn't find this story on WattPad; my mom told me about how a 17 year old had gotten a 3-book deal w

This book was pretty terrible. For many reasons.
For brevity's sake, I will limit my review to one main reason it was terrible: it was written by a 17 year old girl. The writing was ok (I'm being generous, because she is after all 17.) The main problem is a 17 year old girl can't write realistic fiction realistically. The author writes about exactly the kind of world that a 17 year old THINKS they live in: no rules, no accountability, no consequences. A world where you get want you want, just by

The utter insipidity, the fundamental mediocrity of this, coupled with the fact that not only Random bought it, but Netflix made a film of it, and that millions of teens fell for it, gives me a major fright. I mean. Major.
Thank God I regularly see several teenage readers here on GR who show a markedly higher level of erudition.

I had such such high hopes for this, I saw the movie on Netflix, and thought to myself oh maybe this will be a guilty pleasure like The Duff, I literally LOVED that and thought maybe it would be the same for this. Sadly I was wrong, and I'm feeling pretty disappointed to say the least.

Beth Reekles, a bestselling English author, has penned a sweet and pretty entertaining teenage contemporary fiction called, The Kissing Booth that revolves around a female high school teenager, who with her bestie, plans to run a kissing booth for their school's summer spring carnival, sadly, the girl, who has never been kissed or ever dated anyone, falls a victim to her bestie's older brother's Casanova charms

This is more of a 3.5 than a 3.
This book was pretty sweet.
I'd recommend this book to younger teens. It's the kind of story I would have lapped up when I was thirteen and fourteen, very fluffy and girly.
I certainly got exasperated at points. I couldn't understand why she (or anyone!) wanted to be with Noah: he was definitely a bully. Threatening and physically hurting other guys just for talking to her? I beg your pardon? He controlled her love life and she never even knew, then when she did find

Not sure how I feel about this. It was...not a healthy relationship most of the time and where were the parents when they didn't come home at night?
I only read this because I wanted to watch the movie and I have this weird, 'must read the book before you can watch the movie' kind of thing going on. I'm hoping the movie will be better and more of a true love story.
(Disclaimer: I am not a part of the target audience for this book, being decades past my teen-age years. I am just someone who reads books from all genres.)
I will start off by saying kudos to 17-year old Beth Reekles for being able to write a novel, and for being able to reach such a large number of readers on Wattpad.
With that being said, what follows is a short review, because frankly, I feel like I've devoted too much time to this book already just by reading it and actually being able to fi

Going to start this review by saying that I did not know of this book's existence until the film on Netflix came out and I became obsessed with the storyline. I have been a Wattpad member since 2012 and never heard of it, and I'm kinda upset I hadn't because it was actually a really interesting book. Though, I enjoyed the film more... I think because the storyline in the movie was more emotional considering it was VERY different than the book.
Though, it did have its similarities. I found that a

I really did find this a fast, sweet romance. What kind of made me only give it 3 stars was how young the MC, Elle, was, and how she was doing things no 16 year old should. She was at parties until 2 in the morning, drinking, jumping up on tables and dancing in front of intoxicated boys, and having sex. Dude, I'm 17, and I can't imagine myself doing any of those things anytime soon. And her father apparantly had no problem with all that she was doing, even sending her with alcohol when she is un...more

Let me go look in the mirror to make sure I didn't pull all my hair out...........
I'm exaggerating, of course. It wasn't really bad, I just didn't really like it.
It was more or less flat and not too creative. everything was fine up until the actual kissing booth scene and then everything went steadily downhill from there as I lost my patience little by little.
So just a quick overview so you know what I'm talking about:
Rochelle is the main character. Her best friend is a boy

I was instantly struck by how young sixteen-year-old Elle was during her drunken state at the party, she was so intoxicated that she almost skinny dipped in front of everyone.
I checked to see where the writer was born and discovered that Reekles was British, so that explained everything!
I felt the novel had British written characters living in America. That probably explains why I connected with them so easily as I could recognise their actions through my own school experiences.

The Kissing Booth is an enjoyable lighthearted YA romance.
Elle and Lee have been besties forever, but can their relationship survive Elle falling for Lee’s brother, Noah . . .
This is one where the movie is definitely better than the book. I found myself a bit confused halfway through the book, trying to figure out what Noah was meant to have done that he needed to apologise for. The plotting in the movie was much tighter. The main problems I had with the book are that about 2/3 of the way through the book everything hits the fan, which you expect to happen obviously, but for some reason everything flip-flops. Is another novel that has come to light as a result of Wattpad, that rancid nest of One Direction wank fantasies and low-grade Twilight offripping. And much like its fellow Wattpad stablemate The Dark Heroine it's by a teenager, this time one who glories in the name of Beth Reekles.
That's not actually her name, her real name is Beth Reeks. I bet she got bullied at school. Yes. Beth Reeks. And so does this novel, which manages to make Mills & Boon look profound. Seriously. As such, given that
